SCS Lab Coat Laundering Program

The School of Chemical Sciences has implemented a lab coat laundering program to pay for the laundering of chemically contaminated lab coats worn by all SCS graduate students, employees, and staff. Biologically contaminated coats must be decontaminated prior to utilizing this laundering program. Coats will be collected several times per calendar year. An e-mail notice will be sent out informing users of the collection dates.

If you would like to take advantage of the SCS Lab Coat Laundering Program, at no cost to you or your group, please do the following:

  1. Use a permanent marker to write your first initial and last name with room and building on the inside of lab coat collar (Ex: M.Smith 171 RAL)
  2. Deposit your appropriately labeled coat in the box outside RAL Receiving/Mailroom (29A RAL) during the the receiving periods from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. The following dates (tentative) have been identified as the the dates to drop off your lab coats:
    Monday Dec. 7, 2015 and Tuesday Dec. 8, 2015 - 8:00 am to 4:00 pm

Note: If, during the laundering process, a coat disintegrates or is damaged beyond repair, it will not be returned.

An e-mail will be sent in ~1-2 weeks notifying all that the cleaned lab coats are available for pickup at the same location they were dropped off, outside RAL Receiving/Mailroom (29A RAL).
